Shoot More! Week 4

July 22, 2016  •  1 Comment

This week we are exploring color! Don't forget lines, circles and squares. How did that go last week? Did you explore cropping to a circle, square, or triangle? Did you explore bokeh? I didn't even mention that. As we move forward you can pull from any of your skills and interests to make your images stronger.

This week lets Explore Color! Choose a color for the week, or if you are shooting everyday try a color a day.

Things to think about:

•The color should be the main subject of the image

•What does the color represent, a mood, an emotion, a warning, is it a cold color a warm color?

-Cool toned colors are greens, blues and purples.  =  tranquility and calmness

-Warm toned colors are reds, yellows and oranges  =  Depending on saturation these colors direct us from anger to warmth.

-Bright colors are cheerful, dark colors can be somber

-Create a list of what colors represent, add these to your journal and post it to our Facebook Page.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/ShootMore/

•Explore how shadow, light and texture affect the color

•Photograph every day at the blue hour

•Photoshop or app lovers, what about tinting your photos to make a statement after the shoot or even to enhance the colors you captured

The Video

Remember this was one of my goals from week 1. How are your goals coming in life, creativity and photography?

In this weeks video I talk about my start in photography back in 1984. I show you a few images from my first series ever, a little about the importance of making prints and a review of this weeks exploration.
